What Should Go in the Old Insomniak Theatre Co.?
What would you like to see at this vacant S. Main Street location?
Make journeys. Attempt them. There is nothing else.
That was the motto for what was once called Nazareth’s best-kept secret: the Insomniak Theatre Co.
In addition to theatre productions -- "Putting It Together," "Five by Tenn," "Nunsense" and "Oedipus Rex," to name a few -- the company played host to banned book readings, a plethora of musicians, and even magicians.

Founded in 2006 by graduates Josh Bernaski and Matthew Meckes, the theatre existed for five years at 60 S. Main St. in downtown Nazareth.
After replacing the Nazareth News Agency, , the theatre eventually closed as well in November 2010.

But the theatre's founders were likely just making new journeys -- living by their company's motto.
Bernaski, who acted as the theatre’s managing director for three years, left to pursue his bachelor’s degree in theatre at Temple University, where he graduated in 2009.
According to www.joshbernaski.com, Bernaski has been working at regional theatres across the country and has aspirations of -- again -- opening his own theatre company.
My question to you, the readers of Nazareth Patch: What would you like to see at this storefront, at 60 S. Main St.? What does the neighborhood need that's not already there? Let us know in the comments.
Editor's Note: This article has been changed from its original version. The first version mistakenly said that Meckes was the current musical director of the high school theatre troupe. That is incorrect.
