All Bottom Dollar Food Stores Close

The company had said the stores would be closed Thursday, but all locations were closed Tuesday. There were two locations near Norristown.

Discount grocer Bottom Dollar Food has closed all of its locations, including 46 in the Philadelphia region.

The chain, owned by Delhaize America, was sold to discount grocer Aldi in November, The Philadelphia Inquirer said.

The closures came as somewhat of a surprise, CBS Philly said, because the company had said that final closures would be Thursday, Jan. 15. However, all locations were closed as of Tuesday, Jan. 13, Bottom Dollar said.
