Alleged Wegmans Pickpocketer Sought By Norristown Police
Upper Merion authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a pickpocketer captured on surveillance video at an area Wegmans.

UPPER MERION, PA - Upper Merion authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a pickpocketer captured on surveillance video at an area Wegmans.
On May 31 at around 3 p.m., a 78-year-old customer who was shopping at the Village Drive store reported that an unknown person had unzipped her purse and swiped her wallet while she was shopping, police said.
Upon contacting her credit card company, the resident was advised that someone had attempted several unauthorized purchases at a nearby retailer totaling nearly $700 dollars with her credit cards, police said.

The suspect, who remains unidentified, is described as a Black man wearing a white dress shirt under a tan blazer, ripped blue jeans, brown shoes, a yellow surgical mask and glasses.
He was driving a silver SUV, “possibly a Hyundai product,” Upper Merion police said.
