Bill Berry Died Monday

Berry, a Norristown native, died Monday, May 7 at Montgomery Hospital.

William Wallace Berry, Jr., of Norristown, died on Monday, May 7, 2012 in , at the age of 76. Mr. Berry was the loving husband for 54 years to Shirley (Daywalt) Berry.

Born in Norristown on August 28, 1935, Bill was a son to the late William Wallace and Mildred Eleanor (Ellis) Berry, Sr. He graduated from Norristown High School Class of 1953 and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Before his retirement, Mr. Berry was employed as a professional truck driver for over 50 years for North Penn Transfer and Volpe Express. He served as Shop Steward for North Penn Transfer, was a member of Teamsters Local Union 384.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, and fishing, and was an active member of the Reformed Church of the Ascension, United Church of Christ where he was a property committee servant. Bill also thoroughly enjoyed his children and grandchildren and all their many activities.

Along with wife, he is survived by his children Beth B. Martin and her husband Paul, Debra B. DiBussolo and her husband Harry, Donald W. Berry and his wife Kathleen and Patricia L. Youmans and her husband Edgar. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Geoffrey W. Martin, Courtney L Smith and her husband Austin, Leah C. DiBussolo and her fiancé Camron, Gabrielle A. Berry, Luke T. DiBussolo, Emma H. Youmans and Eva J. Youmans, also his brother Robert E. Berry and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11 am in the Reformed Church of the Ascension, United Church of Christ, 1700 West Main Street in West Norriton. Burial will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S. Gulph Road in King of Prussia.

The family will be receiving friends and relatives at the church on Thursday evening, May 10, from 6-9pm and again at the church on Friday, May 11, from 9:45-10:45am.

In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory can be made to the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 555 North Lane, Suite 5010, Conshohocken, PA. 19428.
