Bites Nearby: Olympia Pizzeria
Looking to get a great meal close to home? We've got you covered
Everyone's got their favorite lunch or dinner spot in town, and while I have quite a few "go-to" joints, even I find a new gem from time to time. So, in the spirit of the great explorers and foodies everywhere, I'm instituting "Bites Nearby," a new feature running every Thursday.
Each week, Norristown Patch will find a great place to eat either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

Norristown has its fair share of pizza joints, and while I was sure I'd had a slice or two at each of them at some point, I was recently turned on to one I had missed.
"You haven't tried Olympia?" my mother asked.

She assured me that folks at her work, and even a few family members, swear by the place, so I took it upon myself to see what all the hubbub was about. I wasn't disappointed.
A bit more than just a standard pizza parlor, Olympia has an epic menu worthy of the Greek gods. For such a small shop tucked away on Germantown Pike, I wasn't sure how the chefs had room to actually make everything on the menu. Italian, Greek, Mediterranean, American, Mexican – there was a little of everything.
I stood at the counter, a bit overwhelmed by my options, when someone took pity on me and made a recommendation. "Try the chicken," my new friend said.
"Which one?" I replied.
"Doesn't matter. Chicken steak is great; chicken quesadilla is awesome," came the reply.
I went for the quesadilla and was not disappointed. See for yourself in the photo gallery.
