Car Into House Causes Gas Leak on Chain Street
Crews were on the scene Monday night repairing a gas leak on the 700 block of Chain Street, which was caused by a vehicle crashing into a home.
Police and fire crews were dispatched to the 700 block of Chain Street on Monday night, following a report of a vehicle crashing into a house.
The incident occurred at 10:45 p.m., when a car drove over the sidewalk and crashed into a home. In the process, the vehicle broke a gas line causing what witnesses described as a "heavy leak."
According to sources on the scene, the entire block smelled of gasoline. The vehicle was seen sitting in the middle of the block with two flat tires, as crews from the Norristown Fire Department worked to contain the leak.

The scene was cleared and the leak was repaired shortly before midnight.
