Cash, Jewelry Stolen from Home During Daytime Burglary on West Main Street
Nearly $1,000 in cash and $2,000 in jewelry was stolen from a home on the 1000 block of West Main Street in Norristown.

Norristown Police are investigating a daytime burglary on the 1000 block of West Main Street, in which cash and jewelry were stolen from an apartment.
According to the police report, a neighbor called the victim at work at 3:30 p.m. on May 24 to inform them that their front door was open. The victim returned home at 4 p.m. to find their apartment door still open, with many of their personal items ransacked and out of place, police said.
Among the items stolen were $700 that was hidden underneath a bedroom television, a jar with $200 worth of coins, and a gold necklace with a value of $2,000, according to the report.

The initial investigation uncovered pry marks in the wood of the door near both locks, and a screwdriver on the floor outside of the apartment which did not belong to the victim, the report states. The screwdriver was placed into evidence, as police believe it was used to gain entry to the apartment.
