County Commissioners Embrace Social Media
The county is making use of new technology like never before.

Montco residents got more than just a historic power shift in the last election, they now have a tech savvy Board of Commissioners who are making full use of the social media technology available to them.
The county has a Twitter account (@MontcPA) it uses to interact with residents and spread county news, as do all three commissioners – Josh Shapiro (@Josh_Shapiro), Leslie Richards (@_LeslieRichards) and Bruce Castor (@BruceCastor).
The county, Castor and Shapiro all have Facebook pages as well (if Twitter isn't your bag). You can find them here:

What's more, the county is now putting it's meeting agendas on its Facebook page to make it easier for Montco residents to find out what's going on.

Of particular interest to Norristown residents on the agenda is an $8,000 contract award for Family Services - Communities That Care for a gambling prevention program and an $83,500 award for the Montgomery County Mediation Center for a Youth Aid Panel Program.
The commissioners will meet today in the board room on the 8th floor of One Montgomery Plaza at 10 a.m.
