Cure That Cabin Fever

Each week, we take time out on Norristown Patch to answer the questions that concern our moms. We welcome all moms, dads, grandparents, friends and family to check out our questions and add to our answers. This space is for you to both ask and answer any questions!

We know that being a parent means getting advice from others, and this space can be that forum for you. As Hillary Clinton’s book title implied, “It takes a village ... ,” and moms can rely on Norristown Patch to be there with an answer to their parenting questions.

This week, we were asked about ways to enjoy the rays.

 “I wanted to ask about parks — anyone planning any outdoor activities next week? Expecting 50s and even (wow!) 60s next week. We're right in Lansdale Borough and plan to hit up a few parks — how about you?”

Great idea, Kali! With warmer weather this week, and what is expected to be a gorgeous weekend, it is a wonderful time to head to the area’s many parks.

If you are in the Norristown area, check out these must-see outdoor spaces.

: This park is a simple outdoor space with an outdoor gazebo perfect for a picnic with the family this weekend.

: No, we aren’t talking about the zoo. The free park located next to it includes a band shell, ball fields, basketball courts, playgrounds and pavilions ideal for a weekend out with the family.

: With a small playground and basketball courts, this is a cute little spot to get out some of that pent up energy.

Enjoy the great outdoors this week, and get the kids out of that cabin fever funk. Take some time to enjoy the local parks during this warm up, and defrost the family.
