Early Morning Accident at Main and Hamilton

Officers responded to a three-car crash at W. Main and Hamilton Streets early this morning.

EMS and officers from the Norristown Police Department responded to West Main and Hamilton streets just before 3:30 a.m. last night for a report of a multi-car crash.

According to reports, officers arrived at the scene to find the 23-year-old driver of a red Volkswagon GTI lying in the street bleeding form the head and face. After investigating, officers believe the Norristown man was traveling without a seat belt at a high rate of speed in the eastbound lane of the 1200 block of West Main Street and crossed over into the westbound lane, striking two unoccupied parked cars.

All three vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and will be cited by mail for multiple offenses including driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to comply with requirement for registration and certificate of title.
