Elite Arm Wrestling Championship To Be Held In Montgomery County

The backdrop of Valley Forge's history of "resilience and strength" inspired organizers.

UPPER MERION, PA — Montgomery County has become a national destination for sports championships of all kinds, ranging from golf and track to youth soccer, softball, and baseball. Now, the county is expanding its competition portfolio to a new form of athletics: arm wrestling.

Valley Forge Casino will host the upcoming 2025 Arm Gods Supermatch, an international competition with some of the top arm wrestlers from the United States and United Kingdom. It will be held March 21 and 22.

"We know the armwrestling community will find a welcoming atmosphere here in Montco," Rachel Dailey, the Valley Forge Tourism Board's associate director of sports, told Patch.

Organizers pointed to the history of Valley Forge itself as a reason to hold the event here, citing how "resilience, strength, and determination shaped the course of American history...our event embodies that same fighting spirit."

"We’re proud to be a destination that can host a wide variety of sporting events," Dailey added. "Each of them with their own passionate fanbases."

It's among the first of numerous world championship-level sporting events to be held in the county this year. In May, the county will play host to the Truist Championship, a PGA TOUR Signature Event, at the Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course in Flourtown. The county has also "won back" the US Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup Championship for 2025, one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournaments in the nation.

In 2026, neighboring Philadelphia will host the FIFA World Cup and the MLB All Star Game, both of which are expected to be a tourism boon for Montgomery County.
