Etta James – 1938-2012

The legendary soul singer died yesterday at the age of 73.

As most of you have undoubtedly heard, legendary R&B and soul singer Etta James died yesterday, Jan. 20, 2012, just days before her birthday. James was diagnosed with leukemia in early 2011 and the disease finally took her life in a California hospital.

While she is probably most well known for the wedding staple "At Last," James had a slew of hits and is credited by many with not only bridging the gab between R&B and rock 'n' roll, but influencing the likes of Diana Ross, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Rod Stewart, the Rolling Stones, Amy Winehouse and Adele.
