'Family Friendly' KOP Tavern Opens Up At Former KOP Diner

A game room, pool leagues, revamped menu, boozy shakes and three-pound cheesesteaks: the area's newest establishment has it all.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — A game room, pool leagues, revamped menu, boozy shakes and three-pound cheesesteaks: the area's newest establishment has it all.

The former King of Prussia Diner has gotten a thorough facelift and will reopen as the King of Prussia Tavern, which brands itself as a "family-friendly" bar and eatery with locally sourced, farm to table dishes.

The Town Center Road establishment is set to open with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. It's headed up by executive chef Daniel Waller, a Norristown native and father of four who wanted to create a space that welcomed families while also supporting the local community.

“It has been a dream of mine to become an executive chef and develop a menu that’s inspired by my childhood, my family, and my personal tastes," Waller said. "And I’m certain this is the perfect opportunity for me to do just that."

Features of the menu include mozarella planks with red gravy, beef on weck, boneless twin pork chops with mac n cheese, haricots verts and apple mustard sauce, strawberries and cream stuffed french taost, and fried chicken and waffles. A three-pound cheesesteak and fries highlight the Sunday game day menu.
