East Norriton fire departments shut down W. Germantown Pike.

UPDATE: (12:58 a.m.) Norristown Patch reader James Seydel is on the scene and reports Jefferson Fire Co. and Centre Square Fire Police are assisting Norriton Fire Co.

UPDATE: (12:21 a.m.) @PhillyFireNews reports that the fire, now identified at 1026 W. Germantown Pike, is contained to an out building next to the business.

Firefighters reportedly have the bulk of the blaze under control at the 40-minute mark. (County dispatch calls a mark every 20 minutes to help authorities keep track of how long they've been fighting the blaze.)

East Norriton firefighters are responding to a call of a building fire at 1030 West Germantown Pike in East Norriton. Flames were reportedly seen coming from the structure shortly before 11:40 p.m. this evening.

Authorities have shut down West Germantown between Potshop Lane and Foundry Roads. Residents are advised to avoid the area.

Firefighters are currently fighting the blaze.
