Freedley Street Basement Fire One of Several in Norristown on Monday
Firefighters from several area companies had their hands busy tackling multiple blazes Monday morning.
According to the Norristown Fire Department, firefighters at the were alerted at 7:40am on Monday by banging on the engine room doors. Residents had come to report that there was a house fire down the street on the 200 block of Freedley Street.
Firefighters assembled on the scene to find a working basement fire producing intense smoke and heat. Crews eventually located and extinguished the blaze without any injuries being reported.
According to NFD, crews from East Norriton, Plymouth, Center Square and Barren Hill assisted Norristown.

During the Freedley Street house fire, firefighters from Wissahickon, the Good Will Fire Company in King of Prussia and Conshohocken handled a vehicle fire and a brush fire in other areas of Norristown.
