Gas Main Break Shuts Down Main Street In Norristown

NORRISTOWN, PA — A gas main broke in Norristown on Thursday morning at around 11:30 a.m., causing officials to shut down the road.

The 600 block of E. Main Street, between Ford and Gary streets, is closed until further notice.

Drivers are advised to use Airy Street or Lafayette Street to circumvent the closure.

PECO crews are on scene.

The cause of the break is not yet known, nor it is known how long the closure may be in place.
