Hundreds Without Power In Norristown, Upper Merion
Torrential rain and powerful winds have wreaked havoc on the Montgomery County electrical grid as the threat of tornadoes looms.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Hundreds of people lost power Friday morning in Norristown and the surrounding area as the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby brought powerful winds and torrential rain into the region.
In Norristown, 890 customers are suffering from outages. In Upper Merion, the number is at 670, and there are 687 in East Norriton, as of just before noon Friday.
Restoration times range from hours to days.

All told across Montgomery County, 6,343 residents are without power.

A tornado watch is in effect until 2 p.m. Friday throughout Montgomery County and most of the Delaware Valley region.
