Impact Thrift Celebrating its 10th Birthday This Saturday

The philanthropic thrift store is celebrating a decade of repurposing, recycling and restoring lives.

This Saturday, Dec. 3, is celebrating its 10th birthday. According to a release issued by the company Impact Thrift has donated over $1.3 million dollars to local charities whose missions support families and children in crisis over the past 10 years. Impact Thrift says it owes much of its success to the generous merchandise donors and thrift-minded shoppers who have supported their mission to positively impact local communities.

For its 10th birthday celebration, Impact Thrift is saying thank you to its customers and donors in a by offering incredible store discounts, free prizes and free food from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Net proceeds from the event will help to financially support local charities in the Montgomery and Bucks counties.

The event at the Impact Thirft Store at 1798 Markley Street will be hosted by Paul Baur, the founder of Impact Thrift Stores. Baur has served as president and CEO since the organization’s founding in 2001.

"It’s recycling in one of its most beneficial forms," said Baur. "By repurposing donated items, not only do customers avoid waste, but through their contributions, they help to restore dignity to another person’s life.”

Festivities on Saturday will include a “Pull a discount form a hat” game at checkout; a chance to win a variety of gifts and gift baskets; and birthday cake for all customers while supplies last.

About Impact Thirft

Impact Thrift Stores is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Hatboro. Founded in 2001, Impact Thrift exists to raise funds for local charities through thrift store operations.

Since the Fall of 2001, when Impact Thrift opened the doors to its very first store in Hatboro, the organization has made Montgomery and Bucks county communities a better place to live and work by developing business practices that strengthen the lives of local residents. Impact Thrift’s financial support of local non-profits enables them to spend more time doing what they do best – feeding the hungry, housing the homeless and supporting children and families in need.
