Interim Police Chief Contract, Dragon Boats on Tonight's Council Agenda
Municipal Council plans to sign the consulting contract with Capt. Richet, making his role as interim police chief official.

Norristown Municipal Council meets again tonight, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Norristown Municipal Hall, 235 East Airy Street.
On the agenda tonight, council will take another try at approving and signing the consulting agreement with Capt. Willie Richet for his role as interim police chief. Capt. Richet was sworn in as interim chief on Friday, March 1. (See pictures from the swearing in ceremony on The Times Herald's website.)

Also on the agenda is approval of a lease agreement with the Dragon Boat Club. The club wants to bring its boats to Norristown and make a new home at Riverfront Park.
Council is also scheduled to approve the hiring of a new entry-level firefighter, pending physical and psychological evaluations.
