Investigation Ongoing After Motorcycle Gang Shootout In West Norriton: Police

Gangs opened fire on each other, leaving numerous people injured, authorities said.

WEST NORRITON, PA — Police are continuing to investigate after they said rival motorcycle gangs opened fire on one another Friday night in West Norriton.

No arrests have yet been announced, and it remains unclear exactly what might have sparked the shootout between the two gangs.

The incident occurred at around 9:11 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Wawa on West Main Street.

All six of the injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unclear.

"At this time, the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public," West Norriton Township said in a statement.

Residents are asked to avoid the area of the Wawa where the shooting took place.

West Norton Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau are continuing to investigate the incident.
