June Burglaries Continue to Mount in Norristown

Another four burglaries were reported between June 8 and June 10.

The month of June started off with a rash of burglaries, prompting police to issue a statement reminding residents of basic ways to protect their homes. Despite the effort, the number of burglaries in June continues to mount.

During the early morning hours of June 8, police were approached by a resident of the 400 block of West Main Street, who reported that $100 had been stolen from under his mattress while he was at a neighboring business. The investigation revealed the door to the apartment had been pried and forced open, police said.

Later that morning, police responded to a reported burglary on the 200 block of East Jacoby Street. In that incident, a burglar gained access to the apartment through a broken or boarded up window on the west side of the building, before stealing a BMX bicycle, according to the report.
