Large New Jewish Nonprofit, Serving Kids In Need, To Open In Upper Merion
The 28,000 square foot space is dedicated to helping families in crisis of all backgrounds, officials said.
UPPER MERION, PA — A Jewish nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services to children and families in need will open up a large new facility in Upper Merion township by early next year, according to officials and recent announcements.
FamilyMatters, an expansion of the larger organization Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options, will set up shop on 2004 Renaissance Boulevard.
Officials hope to open up the 28,000 square foot space by early 2026. It will offer a wide variety of services including emergency housing, mental health care, a food kitchen, and more.

"These types of services are needed not only in Upper Merion but pretty much everywhere," Upper Merion Supervisor Greg Waks said. "While FamilyMatters is an organization rooted in Jewish tradition, it serves non-Jewish families as well."
The organization says they provide to support, without cost, to anyone who reaches out to them. They serve all families "without regard to race, color, national origin, or religion," according to their website.

The center is named for donors Linda and Don Brodie, who donated $12 million to the project.
FamilyMatters is currently fundraising through a capital campaign to raise the final $6 million needed to complete the new building.
