Man Convinced Elderly West Norriton Woman To Pay $100K In 'Drug Smuggling' Scheme: Cops

Police said the man took advantage of the elderly woman, fabricating an involved story.

WEST NORRITON, PA — A man who authorities said scammed an elderly woman out of $100,000 by convincing her she was involved in a drug smuggling incident in West Norriton is wanted by police.

Jing Chang Fang contacted the victim "under false pretenses" before telling her of a fictional connection between her and drug smuggling, police said.

He then convinced her to transfer the money to him.

Authorities said he had been living in New York.

He is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
