Edward Paul Lippincott, 37, of Bridgeport was charged following an undercover investigation, District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said.
Upper Providence Township Police Detective Sergeant Raymond Bechtel III, working undercover, began communicating online with Lippincott earlier this month. It became “apparent Lippincott’s intent was to commit illegal acts,” the District Attorney’s Office said.

On Feb. 26, Lippincott requested a meeting with Bechtel, whom he believed to be a 14-year-old boy, authorities said. “ Lippincott’s proposed purpose for this meeting was for him to perform oral sex on the boy,” the District Attorney’s Office said.
Just after noon on Thursday, Feb. 26, Lippincourt arrived at the agreed-upon meeting place, on the 600 block of Commerce Drive in Upper Providence Township. He was met by law-enforcement officers and arrested.
Lippincott is charged with criminal attempt of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16; criminal attempt at unlawful contact with a minor; and criminal use of a communication facility. Bail was set at $500,000. Lippincott was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility pending a preliminary hearing.
Anyone with any information relating to Lippincott’s activities is asked to contact the Montgomery County Detective Bureau at 610-278-3368.
