Married Couple from Norristown Hospitalized After Vehicle Crash in Oley Township
Firefighters need roughly one hour to free the man and his wife from their SUV following the two-car crash at the intersection of Routes 73 and 662.

A married couple from Norristown was hospitalized following a two vehicle accident in Oley Township Thursday evening.
The accident occurred at the intersection Routes 73 and 662 around 7 p.m., when an SUV driven by James Waters, 58, of Norristown, was struck by a vehicle driven by 28-year-old William S. Myers, of Sinking Spring, according to reports.
Firefighters at the scene needed nearly an hour to free Waters his wife, Lydia, from their overturned SUV, according to the Reading Eagle. Both were taken to Reading Hospital, where James was listed in good condition and Lydia was still being evaluated as of Friday morning, the report states.

Myers was not injured by the crash.
The report states that two prior accidents at the intersection have claimed the lives of two young people since the year 2000, but despite community members lobbying for a traffic light, one has not been installed.
