Monday's Storms Cause Flooding in Norristown [PHOTOS]
Monday's storm system caused flooding throughout the area, and made a mess of evening rush hour.
A storm system that passed through the area on Monday caused flooding thoughout Norristown and the surrounding municipalities, and left evening commuters searching for a dry route home.
By 6 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a myriad of incidents, including:
- A water rescue on Whitehall Road in East Norriton.
- A water rescue at the intersection of Dekalb Pike and Allendale Road in Upper Merion.
- A vehicle accident at the intersection of Arch and Penn streets in Norristown.
- Hazardous road conditions at Trooper Road and Industry Lane in West Norriton, and Dekalb Pike and South Henderson Road in Upper Merion.
Additionally, Norristown Patch readers began sending in reports of flooding on Sterigere Street, Stonybrook Condominiums in West Norristown, and the intersection of Arch Street and Johnson Highway.

Roughly an hour later, storm-related incidents continued to be called in to emergency services, including:
- A vehicle accident with injuries at Pine Street and Johnson Highway.
- A road obstruction at Chestnut and Potts Avenue in West Norriton.
- A pump detail at Spruce Street and Park Aly.
- Hazardous road conditions at Markley and Elm streets, as well as Lafayette and Water streets.
Reports from readers continued to pour into the Norristown Patch, until the storm system passed and the waters began to recede a few hours later.
