Montgomery County Gets a New (Old) Mansion
Pottsgrove Manor was officially deeded to Montgomery County by the state at Saturday's Colonial May Fair celebration.
The property deed for a mansion built in 1752 for Pottstown founder John Potts was transferred from the state to Montgomery County officials Saturday.
The formal real estate transaction took place at Pottsgrove Manor’s annual Colonial May Fair celebration and included a variety of period demonstrations by craftsmen and entertainers.
Laura Daugherty, the site supervisor, said the manor has been operated by the county since 1988.
