Montgomery County Rises To Medium Level Of COVID-19 Cases
The number of positive case increased 22% in the last two week, according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevenion.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County has risen from the low to medium level of COVID-19 cases, the Chester County Department of Health reported today.
In the last week from July 1 to July 7, there were 167 new cases COVID-19 per day , according to the tracking by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tracking system.
This amounts to a 22% increase in the last two week, according to the CDC.

In the last week, there were 10 hospital admissions per 100,000 residents.
The CDC reported that 3.4% of the hospital beds available in Montgomery County are occupied by patients being treated for COVID-19.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a least one and five residents have been infected with COVID-19.
The rates are calculated based on the increase of new cases and hospitalization based on 100,000 population.
Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, and Bucks counties are also back up to the medium level.
Overall, 619,387 of the residents in Montgomery County are fully vaccinated. As of the 2o20 census the county has a population of 856,552, according to the 2020 census.
Vaccines are available for children six months and older. The vaccines for children under five years old are lower doses than those used for those over 5 and adults.
