Triple Digit Heat, Storms Target Eastern PA In Weekend Forecast
The humid storm front will mix with high temperatures to create brutal conditions, forecasters said.
EASTERN PA — The heat index will soar over 100 degrees throughout the greater Philadelphia region over the weekend as another round of severe storms targets the area, forecasters said.
Scattered thunderstorms may arrive during the evening hours Friday, and are most likely between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m.
"A few instances" of damaging winds and floods are possible in areas directly hit by thunderstorms, though areas farther west and north of the five county Philadelphia area are more likely to receive severe impacts, the National Weather Service said.
