NASD Hosting Free Family Event

Learn about summer camps and programs at Eisenhower Science & Technology Leadership Academy on Saturday, April 21.

The Norristown Area School District, in cooperation with the Interagency Council of Norristown/Central Agency Board and the NAACP Education Committee, is hosting "Opening Doors to Summer Fun" – a free family event designed to help families learn about summer camps and programs available to them this summer. Participants will also receive free books. The event will be held at , 1601 Markley Street, Norristown on April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Parents and kids can get preview of summer programs and camps that will appeal to actors, artists, athletes and science and technology enthusiasts. There will be information about summer food and meal programs and safe recreation.

Healthy snacks and small prizes will be available throughout the day and children and parents can participate in a community mural project.

Children will also be able to select books to build their home libraries and participate in reading activities that will help promote a love for reading. New and gently used book donations are now being accepted.
