No Injuries in Elm St. Apartment Fire

According to authorities, firefighters had the fire under control in under 10 minutes.

Norristown Fire Department and companies from East Norriton, Centre Square, Plymouth and Barren Hill responded to a report of a dwelling fire at 11 East Elm Street just before 3 p.m. today.

According to Norristown Fire Chief Thomas O' Donnell, firefighters arrived at the three-apartment house to find smoke presenting from the basement at the front of the building. The fire was reportedly contained to the basement area and was extinguished within 10 minutes.

No one was injured in the fire and the cause is still being investigated by the fire marshal.

According to The Times Herald, Montco property records report the building is owned by William Littleton, Ann Littleton and William Littleton Jr. of Whitemarsh, purchased by them in 2005 for $230,000.
