Norristown Man Assaulted by Knife-Weilding Suspect

A Norristown man reported being attacked on the 300 block of Haws Avenue yesterday by a man with a knife.

According to a report from the , a Norristown man reported being attacked by an unknown assailant wielding a knife shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The man suffered a cut to his hand and was treated at a nearby hospital.

The victim was reportedly walking on the 300 block of Haws Avenue when he was approached by an unknown male who was covering his face with the hood of his sweatshirt. The victim said the suspect began speaking to him, but he could not understand what the man was saying. The victim alleges the man swung at his head, but he ducked and threw his hands up in defense. The victim suffered a slash to his right hand as a result.

According to the victim, the suspect fled when a car approached the nearby intersection. No money or personal property was taken from the victim and he reports being unsure if the motive was robbery at all.

The injured man transported himself to for treatment of his wound.

The suspect is described as a 5'9" and 180 pound male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt or "hoodie." He was last seen traveling north on Haws Avenue.
