Norristown Man Killed in Auto Accident in Collegeville
Police say the man's car left the road and struck a tree Saturday afternoon.

According to a report from the Lower Providence Police Department, their officers responded to a report of a one vehicle accident on Crosskeys Road between Ridge Pike and Germantown Pike in Collegeville on Saturday, Feb. 4, 5:27 p.m. Initial responding officers arrived to find a 2000 Ford Taurus that had left the roadway and collided with a tree on the west side of the roadway.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Sean Leedom, 43, of the 600 block of West Lafayette Street in Norristown, was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance. He was transported to by the Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance. Leedom succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Leedom’s vehicle was traveling northbound on Crosskeys Road in the area of Greenes Way Circle when it crossed over the southbound lane of travel, left the west side of the roadway and collided with a tree. The passenger side of the vehicle sustained severe damage.

In addition to the Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance, the Lower Providence Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Lower Providence Volunteer Fire Company, the Lower Providence Fire Company Fire Police Unit and the Collegeville Police Department.
