Norristown Market Part of Healthy Corner Store Initiative

From the Citizens Bank Foundation:

The Citizens Bank Foundation donated $15,000 to the Food Trust on Monday, Sept. 10, for the Healthy Corner Store Initiative, which is designed to improve access to affordable, nutritious foods for those living in low-income neighborhoods. 

The donation was made at in Norristown, a corner store that is hosting weekly cooking demonstrations to teach healthy eating. 

In communities that lack supermarkets, families depend on corner stores for food purchases. The Healthy Corner Store Initiative provides technical assistance and resources to corner store owners to sell fresh, healthy food.
