Norristown Reminds Store Owners of Trash Receptacle Ordinance
Businesses that sell food must have trash receptacles outside of their establishments.

The Municipality of Norristown recently posted a notice on their website reminding business owners who operate establishments that serve food of the current regulations for the disposal of trash and refuse.
According to Ordinance No. 08-25, all public eating and drinking establishments, convenience and grocery stores and any other business that generates refuse shall provide a trash receptacle in front of their establishment. Receptacles must be kept clean and in good repair and must be of the type and specification approved by the municipality so as to create uniformity.

- The can should be 32 gallon or smaller.
- Placed out of the immediate right of way;
- Have a clean appearance;
- Emptied daily;
- Brought in after hours.
