He was an Army veteran who was fond of his pets, a dog and a seagull.
Samuel J. Gowen, 78, formerly of Norristown, was born in Pennsylvania March 31, 1935 and died in the Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House, New Jersey on Nov. 29. He was a U.S. Army veteran from the Korean War. He worked for the Philadelphia Electric Company as a rigger for 35 years. He owned two boats and was fond of his pets, George the seagull and Bruno the dog.
