Head Start is a preschool program for families with children up to age 5. It was designed to help break the cycle of under-education by providing pre-school services to families in need. Head Start focuses on the needs of children, assisting them in growing mentally, socially, emotionally and physically. It also works with parents, teaching them parenting skills. Special services are available to ensure that children with special needs can fully participate in all aspects of the program.
"Numerous studies have shown that Head Start is a valuable program for child development and performs an important service to our community," noted Dr. Hank Finkel of Collegeville.
Occupy Norristown invites everyone to bring their new, unwrapped toys and join them on Saturday Dec. 3 or 10 between noon and 3pm at the Montgomery County Courthouse.
