Foles led the Birds past the New England Patriots in that unforgettable 2018 championship, highlighted by one of the NFL's all time greatest moments: the Philly Special.
There were seconds left in the first half, and it was fourth down and goal. On field mics captured the nonchalant moment when Foles asked then head coach Doug Pederson, "You want Philly Philly?"
Pederson was quiet for a moment. He looked up and across the field. The crowd deafening.
"Yeah, let's do it," he said.
The ball was snapped not to Foles, who slid to the right a moment before, but to the running back Corey Clement. Clement then turned and tossed the ball to tight end Trey Burton. Foles ran a few steps into the end zone and turned, catching the pass from Burton.
While the Patriots were able to battle back in the second half to make the game closer, the play gave the Birds decisive momentum. They eventually won, 41-33.
Foles, now 35, bounced around the NFL for a few years after the Super Bowl, playing in Jacksonville, Chicago, and Indianapolis. He did not play during the 2023 season.
