Pregnant Woman Assaulted, Flown to Philadelphia Hospital
A 22-year-old Philadelphia woman was reportedly pushed down a flight of stairs by her boyfriend.
According to a report from the , officers were dispatched to the area of Beech and Noble streets at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, for a report of an assault.
The responding officer met with the victim, a 22-year-old Philadelphia woman who is reportedly four months pregnant. According to the report, the woman told police she had been arguing with the suspect, a 29-year-old Norristown man, at an apartment on the 900 block of Buttonwood Street where she had been staying with him. She was reportedly trying to procure $10 from the suspect for train or bus fair, but the man refused.
The victim told police she went upstairs to collect her belongings and the suspect followed her, allegedly threatening to kill her. The victim reportedly told police the suspect took her suitcase from her, threw it over the stair banister and allegedly pushed her down the flight of stairs. She also told police that the suspect punched her repeatedly in the abdomen.

Police say the victim has a black eye and marks on her neck which she told officers was from a previous assault that she did not report. The victim reportedly also had fresh scrapes and scratches that police say is consistent with her story.
When emergency responders from Plymouth Ambulance Company arrived on the scene, they reportedly called PennSTAR for a medevac to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania based on her report of being punched in the stomach while pregnant.

Police reportedly returned to the scene of the incident, but could not locate the suspect.
