Radio Stolen From Norriton Fire Co. Recovered

The $3000 radio was recovered when police arrested a man for auto theft.

According to , a fire radio worth $3,000 that was stolen from Engine 61 of the Norriton Fire Co. sometime between Dec. 23, 2011 and Jan. 5 was recovered when a Norristown man was arrested on unrelated charges.

Christopher Keiter, 25, of the 1000 block of Stanbridge Street, was charged with receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked and other offenses on Friday, Jan. 6.

Officers were on patrol on the 200 block of East Airy Street when they reportedly observed a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee heading east, which was the wrong way on a one-way street. Police stopped the vehicle and were informed by dispatch that it had been reported stolen.

Keiter was arrested and transported to the police station. Officers discovered the Motorola XTS 25000 Fire Radio during a routine search of Keiter and the car and he admitted to having stolen the radio.
