Robber Felled With Samurai Sword During Norristown Home Invasion: Reports
The suspect had used a fake gun to attempt to rob the victims when he was encountered by the samurai-wielding roommate, police said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A suspect was stabbed with a samurai sword during a home invasion in Norristown early Tuesday, according to authorities and media reports.
The incident occurred on Blackberry Alley at around 8:45 a.m.
Marcus Armstrong, 35, saw a group of people exchanging money and took out what later turned out to be a fake gun, intending a "crime of opportunity," according to 6ABC. He then demanded cash from one of the men.

A woman who was also there managed to escape inside a nearby home, but Armstrong broke in, police said.
That's when he was met by the woman's roommate, a man who was wielding the samurai sword, according to authorities.

The exact series of events that followed is unclear, but Armstrong was severely injured by the sword, police said.
The Reading Eagle reports it's unlike any other incident Norristown investigators have dealt with in recent memory.
Armstrong was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he is in unknown condition. He's been charged with robbery and related counts.
