Stony Creek Anglers Host Annual Trout Tournament This Weekend

Proceeds will go to fund SCA children's programs and the county's first co-op trout nursery.

The Stony Creek Anglers are holding their 15th Annual Trout Tournament this weekend at the and the State Hospital grounds. The gates open at 6 a.m. (enter through Gate 5 off of Stanbridge Street) and angler start casting off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. The event runs Saturday until 5 p.m. and then on Sunday, April 29, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine.

Advance tickets are still available – $20 for adults 16 and over; $10 for teens 12 to 16; and $5 for children under 12. Proceeds from the event will go to fund Stony Creek Anglers' children's programs and Montgomery County's first co-op trout nursery.

Food and drink will be available, as will bait, lures, other tackle and fishing poles for kids. There will also be handicapped and children's sections and a special pond for kids 6 and under.

Thirty anglers will be awarded trophies at the end of each day in a variety of events, with first, second and third place trophies awarded for longest fish.
