Suspect in Pottstown Murder Found in Victim's Car
Edwin Carrero is currently in a Broward County jail cell awaiting extradition.

According to a release issued by the Montgomery County District Attorney's office, Edwin Carrero is currently in police custody for the murder of Alicia Schmidt, 31.
On Feb. 2, an autopsy was performed on the deceased by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
"The cause of death was broad ligature strangulation; the manner of death was homicide," the release states.

At approximately 2 a.m. this morning, an officer from the Seminole Tribal Police in Broward County, Florida encountered Carrero in the parking garage of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Carrero was reportedly found in Alicia Schmidt's car with a Florida license plate being displayed. According to the release, Carrero was taken into custody without incident and is currently in the Broward County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings.

The case will be prosecuted by assistant district attorneys Wallis Brooks and Heather Levandowski.
