Teen Facing Felony Charges After Assaulting Teacher, Police Say
The student allegedly pulled on his teacher's necktie and began to repeatedly punch him in the head.

A Norristown teen is facing felony assault charges after he allegedly assaulted his teacher and kicked a hole in a wall at The Anderson School.
Lower Providence Police were dispatched to the school at 11:31 a.m. on June 3, for a report of report of a disturbance involving a student. Once on scene, police observed a "fresh" hole in the wall of the main lobby, and noticed that the school secretary was fixing items on her desk and plugging in computer equipment, according to the report.
The teacher involved in the altercation, identified as Giuseppe Serrao, arrived to the main office a short time later, and informed police that he had observed the student spraying another student with an unknown type of aerosol – later discovered to be Axe body spray – and as a result, he escorted him to the principal's office, the report states.

Once in the office, the student allegedly began to knock things off of the secretary's desk and unplug all of the computer equipment. the report states. Serrao then attempted to escort the student into the hallway for a "cool off" period, at which point the student pulled on Serrao's necktie and began to repeatedly punch him in the head, police said.
Serrao then pushed the student into the hallway, at which point the student kicked a hole in the wall before leaving the campus on foot, police said.

Though his face reportedly showed some redness, Serrao declined medical attention, according to the report.
Police located the student a short time later on Forge Avenue near South Trooper Road, the report states. He was then taken back to The Anderson School, where he was placed under arrest for assaulting the teacher and damaging the school, according to the report.
The student – whose name is being withheld due to being a minor – was taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility for processing on a felony charge of aggravated assault, as well as misdemeanor charges of simple assault and institutional vandalism. He was then sent to the Youth Center to await his preliminary hearing on June 5.
