Tipster Foils Burglary Plot

According to , 26-year-old Anthony Arena, of Limerick, and 21-year-old Jeffrey Brannan, of Norristown, were arrested Monday night during their foiled attempt to rob copper pipe from the “old Nicolet building” on East Washington Street.

Police were tipped off Monday afternoon that Arena and his accomplices would be at the location that night to burglarize it. Police staked out the building and observed three suspects arrive in a van and enter the building. Arena and Brannan were found hiding on the roof behind air-conditioning units.

The pair are being charged with theft, criminal trespassing, possessing an instrument of crime, loitering and prowling at night and are being held on $25,000 bail each.
