Two Men Arrested Trying to Sell Stolen iPhone, Wallet Back to Victim
The would-be thieves were apprehended at the proposed handoff.

According to reports from the , two men were arrested last week when they tried to sell back the items one of them had allegedly stolen from a woman at her workplace.
Officers responded on the afternoon of Wednesday, Jan 18, to an office on the 1200 block of DeKalb Street for a report of a theft. The victim told responding officers that an unknown male had apparently taken her purse from the office while she was out briefly. She was aware of this because the suspect had texted her husband from her own phone, thinking he was her, to inform her that her purse was in the bathroom, but that he had removed her iPhone (the same one he believed he was contacting her on) and wallet.
The suspect negotiated with the victim's husband to return the items in exchange for $400 (negotiated down from $1200, the victim's coworkers say, as the phone and wallet were not worth $1200). Officers were conferenced in on a phone call with the suspect, who demanded the police not be involved, and the victim agreed to meet with the suspect at her office to retrieve her belongings.
