Two Shots Fired Incidents in East Side Neighborhood Under Investigation

Norristown Police are investigating two separate incidents involving shots fired in the area of Green and Oak streets this weekend. 

On Saturday, March 9, at approximately 10:43 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 200 block of Oak Street (at Green Street) for shots fired. On the scene, officers found a bullet hole through the storm door and front door of the home and located a bullet fragment inside. The victim, another woman and several small children were home at the time of the incident. The victim told police she does not know why anyone would shoot at her home.

Investigating the scene, police recovered two 9mm shell casings from a breezeway across the street from the victim's home.

On Sunday, March 10, at approximately 7:13 p.m., and officer stationed in the parking lot of St. Patrick's Church reported hearing "three or four gunshots in rapid succession." The shots appeared to come from the 800 block of Green Street. The officer called in the incident and proceeded to Oak and Green streets with back up. 

On the scene, police could find no shell casings. Officers interviewed several neighbors who gave differing accounts of where they believed the shots may have come from.
