Vehicle Theft At King Of Prussia Mall, 2 Other Attempts Reported
At least two vehicle thefts were attempted and one was completed on the same day. Police say thieves are targeting these car makes:

UPPER MERION, PA - At least two vehicle thefts were attempted and one was completed on the same day at the King of Prussia mall last week, authorities said.
On May 31 at about 1:30 p.m., Upper Merion officers responded to the area of Neiman Marcus near the King of Prussia Mall for a reported theft of a Kia SUV from the parking lot while a customer was shopping.
Within several minutes, officers were alerted to at least two other attempted vehicle thefts involving Kia or Hyundai vehicles, police said.

A short while later, another Upper Merion officer recovered a stolen Kia nearby in the King of Prussia Mall Blue Parking garage, police said. The Kia had been previously reported stolen in Philadelphia.
“We have seen several similar incidents in the township in the past month,” police said. “These incidents having been occurring regionally where suspects are specifically targeting these vehicle makes.”

An investigation into all four incidents is ongoing. Officers are also conducting additional patrols in parking areas and garages, police said.
The Upper Merion Police Department offers free steering wheel locks to Kia and Hyundai owners to deter further thefts. These can be picked up at the Upper Merion Police station located at 175 W. Valley Forge Road in King of Prussia.
