WEATHER ALERT: The Hour-By-Hour Forecast for Norristown

The coming storm could make a mess of things for Norristown.

Snow will be heavy at times and make travel “very hazardous or impossible,” the National Weather Service said.

Expect heavy snow during the morning rush hour Thursday, the Weather Channel said. Snow will continue throughout the morning and into the afternoon Thursday, forecasters predict.

A Winter Storm Warning is in place from 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, through 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, the NWS said.

Here’s the hour-by-hour forecast for Norristown, according to the National Weather Service:

• Wednesday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Wednesday night: Rain before 10 p.m., then sleet between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., then snow after 1 a.m. Low around 24. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
• Thursday: Snow, mainly before 4 p.m. Temperature falling to around 21 by 5pm. North wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
• Thursday night: A chance of snow, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 6. Wind chill values as low as -5. Northwest wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
