Whitehall Elementary Raises Money for Cancer Patients

Students raised $2500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

According to 6ABC Action News, the students at Whitehall Elementary School recently presented a check for $2,554.81 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help people suffering with the diseases.

"I wanted to really help the people who have cancer," 8-year-old Bryanna Skipwith told the reporter from Action News who covered the story. "When I was raising money, I asked my mom for all the money in my piggy bank."

The children were bolstered when 3rd-grade teacher, Gina Walsh, told them how she lost her brother, Tony Ciaccio Jr., to leukemia at age 30.
